New York Destination Wedding in Porto Heli

Jamie and Alexander chose Porto Heli the Greek Riviera, a popular wedding destination in Greece, for their romantic wedding among family and friends. Their Greek Ancestry and love for Greece led them into planning a destination
wedding of 200 guests from all over the world. An Orthodox wedding ceremony took place at Agios Aimilianos historical chapel.

The symbols of the orthodox wedding ceremony

The Bride arrived in a vintage grey Jaguar and entered through the stairs among her bridesmaids as the violins echoed the wedding march. A sort of program was distributed among the guests, in which the wedding ritual was illustrated.

During the Οrthodox ceremony the couple drinks some wine from the same glass, an act which symbolizes the fact that from now on they will share the same life. The wedding crows constitute royal symbols, because the couple creates a new kind of kingdom, but they are also symbols of the union that is set up between them.
In terms of the wedding favors, their symbolic meaning lays on the notion of fertility, of happiness and of prosperity. Jamie & Alexander chose wedding favors decorated with gold details in the shape of a small elegant box. What left a great impression on the guests, was the decoration, and especially the use of a wooden scene that added a humorous tone concerning the families of the couple.

The wedding reception in the Epavlis Resort reception venue

After the wedding ceremony the couple and the guests enjoyed themselves in the Epavlis Resort reception venue. The surprise was that at the entrance the guests encountered a photobook, including images from the most cherished memories of the couple, in which their family and friends could write their greetings. Gold candelabras decorated with natural blue and orange flowers and candle lighting added a touch of lux in the beachy atmosphere.
Greek food, world music and fireworks composed a dreamy day that will be remembered both by the couple and by the guests. The dance was the basic element in the reception, however the Greek custom of breaking the plates, during the dance, made the greatest impression on the guests.
